LIFE-FLAREX meets remotely to assess the conclusions of safer flame retardants for the textile industry
The LIFE-FLAREX consortium met remotely on June 18th 2020 in the last project meeting.
The consortium reviewed the conclusions of all the actions of the project. Several points were treated with utmost detail; particularly, the completed industrial trials and the final results of the Life Cycle Assessment and the Risk Assessment that assesses the human and environmental risks and impact.
During the project, industrial trials have been performed to assess the alternative flame retardants. Those were done in Italy, at TF2000 and Fini-stampa Giordanetto, at Czech Republic, both at Inotex and Tylex Letovice, and at Bonditex, E.CIMA and Pertex in Spain.
In the next days, the LIFE-FLAREX team will publish the different technical reports in the project website along with the Layman’s report and a FR Green Procurement guide. Those will serve to support textile companies in selecting better alternatives for flame retardants.
